Aug 28, 2024Refrigerators are a widely used household appliance, and the core components of NTC temperature sensors in refrigerators have long relied on imported NTC thermistors. Recently, Nanjing Shiheng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. has conducted technical research and developed an epoxy-encapsulated radial lead high-performance NTC thermistor with an operating temperature of -40℃~120℃. It is installed as a core component in refrigerator temperature sensors to achieve localization substitution.
The environment in which refrigerator temperature sensors are used is relatively harsh, such as: temperature shock, high and low temperature cycles, long-term work in an environment with very high humidity, etc. The performance of NTC thermistors used in refrigerator temperature sensors in China does not meet the requirements, and the reliability and life indicators cannot meet such an environment. There have been large-scale recall failures, and finally the core components of refrigerator sensors have to be imported.
In order to solve the problems of moisture-proof, waterproof and sealing, some domestic manufacturers have tried to use glass-sealed NTC thermistors to solve the problems of moisture-proof, waterproof and poor sealing. The moisture-proof, waterproof and sealing issues require that the NTC thermistor meet the requirements of no degradation of product performance in the 500-hour boiling test, which is difficult to achieve with ordinary epoxy resin encapsulated products. The waterproof, moisture-proof and boiling test performance of the glass-sealed NTC thermistor is significantly stronger than that of the epoxy radial lead NC thermistor structure. Therefore, for a period of time, glass-sealed NTC thermistors were widely used as the core components of refrigerator temperature sensors in China. After using it for a period of time, customers found that using glass-sealed NTC thermistors as the core components of refrigerator temperature sensors also has some hidden dangers, mainly the glass encapsulation structure, its glass head is relatively brittle, and during the production, use, installation and assembly process, the impact resistance, collision resistance, anti-collision and anti-collision performance of the glass are very weak. Once the glass is damaged or cracked, it will cause the product to fail prematurely.
Recently, the Nanjing Shiheng Electronics research team has overcome some difficulties. After half a year of hard work, it has developed a radial lead epoxy structure NTC thermistor with good waterproof performance, good sealing, and water boiling test requirements. It is used as a core component for refrigerator temperature sensors. Performance tests such as environmental reliability tests have proved that this product can completely replace imported products. Customers are very satisfied with the trial response and fully meet the design requirements. The RT curve of the refrigerator temperature sensor is relatively special. The -18℃~+5℃ RT curve must meet the requirements. Customers have strict requirements on water boiling tests, waterproof, moisture-proof performance and other life tests. The successful development of this product can achieve the goal of domesticating the core components of refrigerator temperature sensors to replace imports. The successful development of this product has also laid a good foundation for Shiheng Company to broaden and expand the market for refrigerator temperature sensors, and also highlighted the technical advantages of Shiheng Electronics. At present, this radial lead epoxy package NTC thermistor has been mass-produced.
